Spaghetti puttanesca

Pasta! My little girls adore it. Pretty much any version. I like this one too, as it has a good spice content and gets them used to spicy things at an early stage. Mind you, not salty, spicy. I don't add any extra salt to it, as the tomatoes taste slty enough as they are.

Ingredients:
2x400g tins chopped tomatoes (or plum and you can chop them...)
2 heaped tbsp tomato puree
1 small jar olives
1 tbsp dried basil or a big bunch fresh
good pinch chilli flakes
1 tbsp olive oil
2 garlic cloves crushed
1 onion finely chopped
1 tsp sugar
1 packet pasta, cooked
grated cheese (loads and loads!!)
Heat the oil in a saucepan. Add the onion and saute until soft. Add the garlic and chilli and stir fry for a few seconds, until fragrant.
Add the rest of the ingredients except the olives, stir, bring to the boil and simmer on a low heat for half an hour or until thickens.
Stir in the olives for the last five minutes.
Cook the pasta according to packet instructions. Heap portions onto your warm plates, top with the sauce and cheese.
Enjoy!
My kids are alway fishing out the olives even from my plate...
