Pertzels

These pertzels are just simply delicious with a mug of milk (or with a pint for grown-ups!). They are really easy to make and even your little one can help making them.

You will need:
1 kg flour
1 tbsp salt
500 ml milk
1 sachet yeast
120 gr lard

Mix the yeast with a little milk and when frothy stir into the other ingredients. Knead until you get a stiff, elastic dough.

Without leaving to rest roll long sausage shapes from the dough with the flat of your palm. The longer the better!

Shape them into pertzels (or circles or anything else you want to) and put them on a greased (with lard!) baking sheet.

Mix together 1 tbsp flour, 1 tbsp salt and some water until you get a thin paste.

Drizzle this over the pertzels. Put them in a pre-heated hot (220 C) oven and bake for about 15 mins.
Enjoy!
